Estimated Response Time for Utility Requests

What it shows

The Est time column on the Utilities tab estimates how long an agency typically takes to return records, based on CivilGrid's recent experience with that agency. The estimate covers time to the receipt of the utility records from the agency, not just an initial reply. These estimates are built on tens of thousands of requests and are constantly getting updated with more accurate information. You may see estimates change as a result of newer data. None of these estimates are guaranteed delivery dates. 

Confidence levels

Each estimate carries a confidence level based on how much recent data backs it:

• High — sufficient recent requests to trust the range from this agency.

• Established — some recent history with this agency

• Low — limited recent data; treat the range as a rough guide.

A wider time range means less certainty, even within the same confidence level.

When the column shows "—"

A dash means CivilGrid has no reliable recent data for that agency and asset type. 

When the column is hidden

Estimates aren't reliable for very large or unusually shaped project areas, since CivilGrid has little or no historical data at that scale. The Est time column is hidden when a project meets any of these criteria due to complications introduced by the following geometries: 

• Linear project longer than 3 miles

• Single polygon larger than 1 square mile

• Multi-polygon area with more than 3 polygons

• Multi-polygon area where polygons are more than 1 mile apart
